Daniel N. McCain, age 85, of Kingston Township, died Friday, August 27, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Pastor Keith Carlson will officiate. Services will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

Daniel Norman McCain was born August 19, 1936 in Harlan, Iowa to Walton and Mettie (Christensen) McCain. The family moved to Lake Vermillion when Dan was 2; he grew up on the Iron Range and Duluth.

As a teenager, he moved in with his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Harold, to help on their farm. At the age of 16, Dan went to work in the iron mines and at 17 he joined the United States Army. He honorably served in the United States Army for 3 years, before serving 11 years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
